The camping Chapmans

Thanks to his recent Cabela's Top Gun Championship and Busch Shootout wins, Brent Chapman is now $200,000 richer. First on the buying block is a fifth-wheel for next tour season. He said he and his family will use the fifth-wheel to camp between and during events.
"Our big dilemma was we really wanted to take two trucks on the road with us," he said. "We have a new baby and a 2-year-old son. It's hard |
in the morning, and at night, with kids' sleep habits. Now with this money, we'll be able to take two vehicles. That will keep the kids happy, my wife Bobbi happy and will maximize my time on the water." The other vehicle, a Chevy Suburban, will tow his boat.
"We're going to stay at campgrounds," he said. "We're kind of done with the hotel scene. We're fed up with that." He noted he'll likely camp in conjunction with Randy Blaukat and Todd Faircloth. Other full-time campers on tour include Aaron Martens, Danny Correia and Alton Jones. "There will be a lot more of us next year," he noted.
He is aware of the ZTS that Randy Howell will run this year. That system allows an angler to carry a truck and boat in a single enclosed trailer. "I'm actually going down to Nashville to go to the ZTS press conference," he said. "They've approached me (about) them. For me to do that, I'd have to have a big sponsor to help me out with one. It's definitely a possibility, but I'd need some help." |
