A few months ago, BassFan reported that Randy Howell planned to switch to a new ZTS for the 2006 tour season. Pictures of that system have finally surfaced.

The two-part system, called the Laker Series, incorporates a trailer and a motor coach. The trailer houses the boat and tow vehicle, and includes a built-in workshop and storage area. The coach includes living, kitchen and

bathroom areas, and can sleep up to eight people.

Howell is currently married with two children. What does he think of the new system? "Oh man, it's awesome," he said. "It's going to be probably one of the best things ever to happen in our sport." Not only will he be able to travel with his entire family through the extensive 2006 season, but he also noted the rig allows him to attract more sponsorship dollars.

He had used a motor home in the past. Problem was, he couldn't leverage the motor home with potential sponsors. "Now we've opened up a new level," he said. "We can wrap these things, and we have a way for companies to put some big money in. All we've (previously) had to offer is a boat and tow vehicle. But this is 75 feet of rolling billboard space. It's never been done."

He said he plans to wrap the trailer and the first 1/3 of the coach. It'll probably be a Purolator wrap, but the deal has yet to be finalized. He also noted he doesn't need a commercial driver's license to operate the rig, and at least three other pros have expressed interest in purchasing the trailer/coach combo.
